I’m very excited for this new Lego set: Science, dinosaurs, feminism, and of course Lego, all in one box!
This set has come about from Lego Ideas (once known as Cuusoo), the user-submitted set ideas platform. The original proposal was simply for a female minifigure set, to help balance the massive gender inequality in the Lego-verse. Loads of different vignettes were proposed, showing females in all sorts of roles, but eventually it had to be narrowed down to a smaller selection for the final set, and this science-based trio was selected, becoming the “Research Institute”.
This is eighth Ideas/Cuusoo set, but only the second wholly original concept; most of the rest have been based on licensed properties or specific real-world objects. Conceptually (and dinosaurly) this is by far the most interesting set Ideas has generated.
PS, I have a project up on Ideas, to get a King Kong set made. It needs loads more support, so pleeeease go and add yourself to the count!

On top of their general awesomeness, dinosaurs also encourage nudity? Excellent!
Also, totally check out the other are by Greg Stones. It’s brilliantly weird, featuring various combinations of dinosaurs, aliens, robots, people, penguins, and Darth Vadar.

And there I was thinking all the space/sci-fi leggings were the coolest… What a fool I’ve been!

Even more love for my new favourite Jurassic Park art. Best moment in the film captured to perfection.

All Pixar films are good, but I’ve never been more excited about one than I am for 2014’s The Good Dinosaur. Don’t know much, but it’s Pixar with dinosaurs, can’t go wrong really can it?

Holly bananas Batman, next year’s Comic Relief red noses are dinosaurs!! I think they are a T-rex, triceratops, and …umm, screamasaurus? And they have feet, so you can use them as toy dinosaurs as well as noses (tis the idea).
Linkity link to the designer’s comments and pictures of them in action!
